Ridge Road Repaving Project

Cincinnati Department of Traffic Engineering (DOTE) has confirmed they will begin the major repaving project of Ridge Road this year. They expect to hire a contractor spring 2026 with work beginning later in the year. Because of the length of the project the work could extend into late 2027.

We’ll share the updated work schedule once the contractor has been selected and the project schedule finalized. Pleasant Streets and our Community Council pushed hard for additional traffic calming measures to be folded into the repaving project. Here’s what DOTE has committed to do:

Ridge Road from the railroad tracks to Woodford
-
Updated marking and signage near Mapleleaf for merging. The approach to the railroad tracks in both directions will also be modified. [See Diagram 1, Ridge at Mapleleaf]
-
Center turn lane added [Image 2]
-
A painted island (location to be determined) between Mapleleaf and Woodford to help discourage drivers from using the new center turn lane as a passing lane
-
Marked crosswalk with a sign on the south side of Bellewood. This crosswalk will include 3 speed cushions on one side to slow traffic down on approach.

Woodford Intersection [See Diagram 3]
-
Lane realignment and reconfiguration. Both east and westbound traffic will have left turn only lanes.
-
The eastbound lane at Woodford and Ridge, which is currently for right turns only, will now be used for traffic going straight as well as for traffic turning south onto Ridge.
-
The northbound intersection at Ridge will be reconfigured to have one through lane and one right turn only lane onto Woodford.
-
There will be painted curb extensions and a marked loading zone at TCP Academy.

Montgomery & Ridge Intersection
-
DOTE is still finalizing plans to improve the design of this intersection.
