Conservation Committee
The Conservation Committee (previously Parks) supports our neighborhood's biodiversity and green spaces.
We’re currently focusing our efforts at two key sites:
-
St. Peter’s Pocket Park: Home to our native pollinator garden, supporting local bees and butterflies.
-
Kennedy Heights Park: Expanding biodiversity by removing invasive species and replanting native species through our Community Nature Advocates events.
Looking ahead, our goal is to bring conservation to the entire Pleasant Ridge neighborhood. Here’s what that could look like:
-
A free neighborhood compost station accessible to all residents.
-
A native plant and seed nursery offering locally grown plants and seeds, by and for our community.
-
A volunteer conservation team ready to help residents remove invasive species from their yards or business landscapes.
-
Native micro-forest projects that boost ecosystems, improve air quality, and reduce heat and noise.
-
A community recycling network for items not yet collected curbside.
We’d love your ideas! What actions can we take—together—to make Pleasant Ridge greener, healthier, and more sustainable?
