11/29 : PR HOliday Playlist 2.0
It's back! A festive, family-friendly Spotify soundtrack curated by our very own Pleasant Ridge residents. Providing a perfect setting for all upcoming Ridge-ness events - lighting the house, the jingle bell run, or the virtual cocktail party – this list promises to highlight the unique “character” of our Ridge residents.And to encourage creativity and keep things interesting, all holiday favorites submitted starting today will be included for critical review by Woody at PR’s very own EveryBody’s Records. That tune deemed most distinctive, exclusive or singular will claim 2021 Holiday Music Curator bragging rights as well as a $50.00 Everybodys Records gift card and a $50 Overlook Lodge: A Rustic Watering Hole gift card to boot. The decision, announced Friday, December 3, 2021, will be final.Submissions must be posted by Wednesday, December 1st by 11:59 pm for consideration. Please remember to keep all submissions family-friendly. PRCC reserves the right to filter for language or content and children 13 and under must have parental consent to participate.Once compiled on Spotify, a link will be shared with the Community. Game on!
12/1: PR COmmunity Menorah lighting
This “festival of lights”, celebrated by Jewish people around the world, represents the struggle from darkness into light and the power of community and teamwork. In this time of shorter days and uncertainty, it is a mitzvah (good deed) to come together in high spirits to celebrate goodness and light.
To participate in this event you do not need a physical menorah (virtual menorah here: [http://www.virtualmenorah.com/vm/](http://www.virtualmenorah.com/vm/...)) or even be Jewish- Hanukkah is for everyone! We will provide a digital copy of blessings and songs-all you need is a Zoom link and the willingness to participate!

December 3rd will be the last day of our Twelve Days Partner CRC's Toy Drive! Drop off during regular business hours at 5915 Ridge Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45212. Please contact the center ((513) 731-7894) prior to drop off.
Toys must be new, wrapped and for children ages 5–12 ONLY.

12/5 & 12/17: Photos for santa
The Pleasant Ridge return of a creative opportunity (and many times, less stressful) for your children to visit with Santa...at a distance! Being at a distance shouldn't mean making it awkward or unnatural. PRCC is offering a way for your family to visit with Santa at his Workshop, where it would be natural that kids would be talking to him behind his workbench (instead of being on his lap).
Santa's Traveling Workshop will be set up in the parking lot at Moler-Hollywood Beauty Academy on Saturday December 5th from 11 am -1 pm. Please sign up via the link below so we can arrange accordingly.
Your family will receive (3) 5x7 photo prints and a digital image for you to make additional copies for $25 (plus sales tax).

12/9: PR JINGLE bell RUN
Come join the PR Runners for a 5K run and some holiday cheer! Participants are encouraged to dress in holiday costume...and be sure to snap a photo and post! The best holiday running ensembles will be selected via "likes;" a $50 gift card to the Coffee Exchange and $50 of goodies from The Gas Light are on the line. Game on!

12/11: PR Holiday lights Contest
PRCC is helping to make the spirit BRIGHT this holiday season with its PR Holiday Lights Contest.
To enter, post a clear, “night-time” photo of your finished decorations submitted no later than Saturday, Dec. 11 at midnight.
Also, please keep your holiday display lit from dusk until at least 9 p.m. for your neighbors to enjoy. The PR FB folks will select two winning entries by "liking" their favorite photo. Voting will close on Sunday, December 13th at midnight. A $50 gift certificate to Architectural Art Glass and a $50 gift card to Share Cheese is at stake. Let's see those lights!
12/12: PR Holiday Neighborhood Cleanup
There's lots of swag to be had for volunteers participating in the PR Holiday Neighborhood Cleanup! Assemble at the PR Gazebo at 1:00 pm; all cleanup supplies will be provided. A $50 Nine Giant gift card and a $50 Revolution gift card will be raffled off to the attendees. Let's make Ridge look extra tidy this holiday season!

12/14 - 12/16: Holiday Cookie Recipe Swap
OK everyone – time to dig out your favorite holiday cookie recipes. Whether it’s from a dog-eared cookbook, the back of a stained envelope or -- for the neat and organized among you -- a card or online file folder, here’s what we need:
1) Type out or take a photo of your favorite cookie recipe.
2) Include a photo of the finished cookies, if you have one.
3) Email your entry to: bdidrich@gmail.com.
We’ll compile and share all the recipes in a downloadable file (and also include last year's entries). PLUS – we’ll put all your recipes up for a vote by PRCC Executive Council. Two designated winners – one for best overall, one for most unusual -- will receive either a $50 gift certificate to Goodfellas or Thane Lorbach Custom Woodworking.
All entries must be received by Thursday, December 16.
12/15: Virtual holiday cocktail party
Pleasant Ridge is lucky to have our our own PR virtual cocktail class!
The 9G Fermatorium will be sharing key techniques for making two killer cocktails at home. Mark your calendars now...details soon to follow. We’ll shake cocktails, we’ll stir cocktails, we’ll laugh, we’ll drink, we’ll become friends. And that's all the motivation we need. Cheers, PR!

12/19: Light up the ridge luminaria
A fundraiser for the PRCC, Light Up the Ridge provides the neighborhood with holiday ambiance. Residents assemble the luminaria (directions will be provided; basically dump sand in the bottom of the bag and place candle inside) and line their sidewalks, driveways, porches, etc. When lit at sundown, the candles burn for several hours. It's a great night for photography and walks around the Ridge!
Cost: Each Luminaria kit includes 12 bags, candles and sand. Cost is $15. Multiples of 3 or more will get a $5 bonus (3 kits for 40, 4 kits for $55, 5 kits for $70, $ kits for $80 etc.). Ordering for an entire street? We can discuss group discounts.
