Kennedy Heights Arts Center
HOLIDAY TREASURES ART SHOW
November
15 - December 20, 2008
One-of-a-kind handmade treasures created by local artists are the
focus of the Kennedy Guild's annual show at the Kennedy Heights Arts
Center. The exhibition includes new work by our juried
painters and photographers, as well as jewelry, ceramic works, fiber
creations, mosaics and sculpture.
A Giving Tree will display ornaments fashioned just for this occasion
by the artists. Proceeds from their sale will benefit the
children's arts programs at Kennedy Heights Arts Center.
An opening reception will be on Saturday, November 15, 2008 from 6-8
pm and will feature light refreshments, beverages and live music by
harpist Linda Greiser. All are invited free of charge.
Kennedy Heights Arts Center is located at 6546 Montgomery Road in
Cincinnati.
The show runs through December 20, 2008. Gallery hours are
Saturdays 10 am - 4 pm and by appointment. For more
information, call 513-631-4278.
About
the Kennedy Guild
Kennedy Heights Arts Center supports an artist guild of about 50
local established and emerging artists in all artistic
disciplines. The Guild operates a small gift shop in the
building, open on Saturdays and for special events, which provides an
opportunity for member artists to display and sell their work; and for
community residents to purchase fine quality art at reasonable
prices.
About
the Kennedy Heights Arts Center
The Kennedy Heights Arts Center is a non-profit community arts center
founded in 2003 by local residents. When developers threatened
to demolish the historic Kennedy Mansion, built in 1875 by Kennedy
Heights founder Lewis Kennedy, a group of citizens organized to save
it. Since that time, hundreds of volunteers have worked to
transform the distressed 21-room historic mansion and 2.5 acre grounds
into a thriving community arts center. The mission of Kennedy
Heights Arts Center is to enhance the life of the surrounding
communities through the arts. The Arts Center provides
affordable arts programming for children and adults, art exhibitions and
events. More information can be found at www.kennedyarts.org.
For more information, contact: Ellen
Muse-Lindeman, Executive Director (513-631-7567) or email ellen@kennedyarts.org.
