The Pea Pod Cafe

Here is what's happening this week at The Pea Pod Cafe:

Omelette Bar- The Pea Pod Cafe will have an omelette bar this Saturday, October 18 from 10am - 1pm.

Music- This Saturday, October 18 Mae Klingler will be performing from 4-6pm in the community room at The Pea Pod Cafe. From the age of five, Mae always knew she wanted to play the guitar. For the first decade of her life, she settled for a tissue box and some rubber bands, but on her sixteenth birthday, she finally received her first guitar. After a year and a half of constant practicing, and the distribution of earplugs for her sister, Mae made her public debut as the guitar-wielding fairy in her high school production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Her musicianship was limited to her bedroom until her freshman year at Ohio University. After several weeks of attending Bruce Dalzell's Friday night open mic, she decided to perform in public. Armed with the help of a friend who sang along, Mae performed several covers and an instrumental version of her first original song. Making a home where she first began, Mae continued honing her technique in Athens, a sleeply little town that rocks almost every night.  Mae's influences include national talents Patty Griffin and Gillian Welch, but most of her musical influence comes from the stages of Athens, Ohio. After college, Mae moved to Cincinnati and looks forward to finding the perfect local haunts to set up her guitar. Hear more Mae at http://myspace.com/maeklingler.  Read more Mae athttp://maeklingler.blogspot.com
