1) Welcome to the Peapod Café
a new PR restaurant next to the library!

The Peapod Café adds a very healthy, yummy component to the meal offerings in Pleasant Ridge.  Specializing in salads, smoothies, wraps and teas, the Peapod Café is a very family friendly restaurant/café.  Be sure to ask to see the meeting space in the back!

"SOFT OPENING"  We'll be open from 11am to 2pm, Tuesday thru Saturday, until mid August when we'll begin our normal hours of 11am to 7pm.

Rebecca Weller will be our first artist to exhibit.

Using a Cincinnati Art Academy education as her foundation, Rebecca Weller has spent the last two years studying and working out of her studio. An exploration of the master's styles and techniques has served well the development of her unique and evolving style.

A strikingly narrow range of colors and a painterly hand, combined with a deft combination of thin glazing and opaque layers of paint, characterize the Asian-inspired paintings created by Weller. Her exploration of this foreign culture has led to a profound cultural awareness.

Rebecca's work will be exhibited throughout the cafe.

Meet the City Police Cookout - Otto Armleder Park August 5 from 6 to 9pm

"On behalf of all the Officers in Cincinnati Police District Two, I would like to invite you, your family, neighbors and friends to attend National Night Out in Armleder Park.

The event occurs on Tuesday night, August 5, 2008,  6-9pm.

National Night Out in Armleder Park offers neighbors, community leaders and local law enforcement officials an opportunity to meet and discuss important issues in an environment of family-friendly fun.
Generous community sponsors make it possible to once again offer free food and beverages with giveaways-including a school supply kit for the first 500 children (K-8) in attendance!
This event is a special way that all of us can connect on a personal level, enjoy a wonderful evening and discuss important issues that affect us. We especially look forward to meeting those who are school age and younger, and we have lots of special activities for them.

The event features live music, and other entertainment. There will be demonstrations by police units and community groups. Police dogs, horses, bicycles, motorcycles and other vehicles will fill the park.
There will be a special child identity booth. There are also plans for a Cincinnati Fire Department truck. The Greater Cincinnati Police Museum will provide a special display of its collection.
Please join me and all the volunteers in the local celebration of this national event that involved over 35 million people in 2007.

For more details visit www.armledernationalnightout.com . "

Best regards,
Captain Doug Wiesman
District Two Commander
